Ending a series is a difficult one .......where should a story that you have followed for so long end? When do you step away from the characters and let the readers decide their fate from there? When they can stand on their own is my only answer for that.

About This Quote

The ending of a series is an important choice for any author. They must choose to end the story with either a climax or a conclusion, but many authors are left wondering how to end their series. And if they are writing a trilogy or more, then they must decide where to end the story. Many authors wonder if they should leave it open ended or give it a definite ending.

An open ending will leave the reader with questions, which can make them want to pick up the next book in hopes of finding out what happens next. A definite ending may cause the reader to feel unsatisfied, especially if there is not an explanation as to why things ended as they did.
